Frequently asked
Is the CV check actually free?+
Yes. No card, no account, no email needed for the diagnostic. You can run it up to 5 times per hour from one network. If you want the rewrite, that uses the free or Premium tailoring flow.
Will my CV be stored?+
No. Your CV is processed in memory and discarded once you close the page. We do not save the uploaded file or its parsed contents to our database.
What does the ATS score mean?+
It is a 0-100 estimate of how well your CV matches the job description, based on hard skills, title alignment, experience depth, quantified outcomes, and parseability. It is the same scoring engine used inside the full Sausage Dog tailoring flow.
What do I do with the missing keywords list?+
Each missing keyword is a phrase that appears in the job description but not in your CV. The ATS scores you partly on overlap. You can either edit your CV by hand to weave the relevant ones in (truthfully — do not claim experience you do not have), or run the full Sausage Dog tailor flow which does this for you in under a minute.
Is this UK-specific?+
The diagnostic works for any CV / job pair, but the scoring is tuned to UK hiring norms (no photo, two-page expectation, NHS bands, UK qualifications). For US-style roles the score will still be useful but slightly less accurate.
