CV tailoring service for UK roles

Paste the job. Upload your CV. Get a tailored version in under a minute. Real dates and employers stay intact.

Reviewed by Anthony, founder · Updated

Most CVs get rejected before a human reads them. Not because the candidate is wrong for the job, but because the wording in the CV does not match the wording in the job ad. A tailoring service fixes that, application by application.

How it works

  1. 01

Paste the job description. Any UK job ad. NHS Jobs, Civil Service Jobs, LinkedIn, Indeed, a careers page.

  2. 02

Upload your CV. .docx or .pdf. Or paste it as text.

  3. 03

Get a tailored rewrite. Language matched to the ad, ATS-friendly structure, your real experience untouched.

  4. 04

Download or copy. Paste back into Word or send straight to the recruiter.

What gets rewritten

  • Profile / personal statement, to mirror the role.

  • Experience bullets, re-phrased to use the ad's exact nouns.

  • Skills section, re-prioritised to what the ad asks for.

  • Cover letter (Premium), written from the same upload.

  • Interview prep (Premium), likely questions for this exact role.

  • LinkedIn About + headline (Premium).

What never changes

  • Employment dates.

  • Employer names.

  • Job titles.

  • Qualifications and credentials (QTS, NMC PIN, GMC, ACCA, CIMA).

  • Education history.

  • Anything else you didn't already write.

Built for UK hiring

Sausage Dog is not a US tool with UK English bolted on. The prompts are written for how the UK actually hires:

  • Two-page CV norm (not the US one-pager).

  • NHS Agenda for Change banding language.

  • Civil Service Success Profiles and behaviours.

  • QTS, NMC PIN, GMC, ACCA, CIMA recognised as the credentials they are.

  • British English spelling throughout.

  • No photo, no DOB, no marital status. UK convention.

Frequently asked

What does a CV tailoring service actually do?+

It rewrites the language of your existing CV to match a specific job description. Bullets get re-phrased to mirror the wording in the ad. Keywords the ATS is looking for get woven in. Your real experience, dates, employers, and qualifications stay exactly as they are.

How is this different from a CV writer?+

A human CV writer takes one to three weeks and costs £150-£500 for a single CV. Sausage Dog takes under a minute and is free for up to one tailoring per day. Premium is £9 a month for unlimited. A human writer is better if you want to rebuild your CV from scratch with strategic input. Sausage Dog is better if you have a working CV and want a tailored version per job application.

Will it invent experience or inflate my role?+

No. The system is prompted to preserve facts and refuse fabrication. Your dates, employers, job titles, and qualifications come out the other side identical to what you uploaded. Only the language around your real experience is rewritten.

Is this just ChatGPT in a wrapper?+

It runs on Anthropic Claude, with prompts specifically designed for UK CV tailoring: NHS bands, civil service competencies, two-page UK norms, ATS keyword matching, fact preservation. The difference is the constraints. ChatGPT will happily invent things; Sausage Dog refuses.

What does it cost?+

Free for one tailored CV per day. Premium is £9/month for unlimited tailoring plus cover letters, interview prep, follow-up emails, and LinkedIn rewrites. No annual contract, cancel anytime.

Is my CV data safe?+

Yes. Uploads are processed in-memory for the rewrite and stored on Neon Postgres only if you sign in to save the result. Nothing is shared with third parties or used for training. See the privacy page for the full data policy.
