What governs this role
Two official sources carry this family, and they disagree with the folklore in the same place. Supply chain warehouse operative, ST0259 at level 2, is the occupational standard and it treats driving a truck as something an operative may be required to do rather than as the job itself. The Health and Safety Executive is blunter: there is no state system for training lift-truck operators as there is for drivers on the public highway, so the forklift licence everybody talks about is a certificate of basic training, one of three stages, and it does not transfer between truck types. Manual handling is covered by the 1992 Regulations, and the law sets no weight limit, so the kilogram figure in an advert is the employer describing their own site.

Important. These are not leaked interview questions. They are built from real UK job adverts and official employer frameworks, to reflect the requirements employers consistently assess.
What this sample cannot tell you. This corpus is warehouse operative, picker packer and forklift adverts from the DWP Find a Job service, so it describes the entry tier and not team leader or warehouse manager posts. A large share of these adverts are agency and temporary postings, which pulls the immediate start and weekly pay language up and may pull permanent-site requirements down. Sector is not separated and it matters: chilled and cold store work is one advert in fifteen overall and clusters in food and grocery. Read the advert in front of you rather than the average.
We do not claim these are the exact questions you will be asked. We measure what UK employers consistently ask for in their job adverts, check it against published assessment frameworks where one exists, and turn those requirements into realistic interview questions.
